At Water Park, we prioritise the health and safety of all our visitors and staff. We have implemented a comprehensive and proactive approach to managing health and safety to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Firstly, with the help of Eric Wright Professional Services, we conduct thorough risk assessments of our premises, facilities, and activities. This helps us identify potential hazards and develop appropriate control measures to minimize risks. We regularly review and update these assessments to ensure their effectiveness and implement safe working procedures.
As Water Park is part of the approved outdoor register with Learning Outside the Classroom accreditation, you shouldn't need to ask us for copies of our risk-assessments. However, you will find a Risk Management Summary in our Downloads and Links page and we are happy to share them if needed.
Our dedicated team of trained and qualified staff are responsible for implementing and monitoring health and safety protocols. They undergo regular training and stay updated with the latest industry standards and best practices. This ensures they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to handle any situation that may arise.
All our equipment and facilities undergo regular inspections and maintenance in accordance to the relevant regulation and guidance to ensure they are in optimal condition. We also provide clear and concise instructions to our visitors regarding safety procedures and guidelines.
In the event of an emergency, we have well-defined emergency response procedures in place. Our staff are trained to handle emergencies efficiently and effectively, and we have appropriate first aid equipment readily available on-site.
Continuous improvement is a key aspect of our health and safety management. We encourage feedback from our visitors and staff to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes. We also stay updated with industry developments and invest in new technologies and practices to enhance safety measures.
Overall, our commitment to health and safety is unwavering. We strive to provide a secure and enjoyable environment for all our visitors, ensuring that their well-being is our top priority
Accidents and incidents unfortunately can happen despite all efforts made to avoid them. Water Park records all these through our online portal ASSURE. These records are regularly reviewed and any lessons learnt used to implement better future procedures following the Plan-Do-Check-Act model. Lessons are shared though our “Read File” and weekly meetings prior to being introduced to our primary policies.
At the start of every year, all risk assessments are reviewed and safe working guidelines adjusted accordingly. All staff are then requested to re-familiarize themselves with the necessary policies for their department and must sign a policy acknowledgement form to acknowledge they have read, understood and agree to operate in accordance with the guidance.
All staff are encouraged to contribute to the ongoing development of these policies as we consider them to be ‘live’ documents. This simply means they are intended to change and be adapted as we learn and react to industry best practices.
We understand the difficulties of retaining all the information contained in the many policies but recognise the importance to stay constantly updated all-year round. Also, as the team at Water Park are committed to the cause, we will often work cross departments, therefore, we have created easy access to individual activities and tasks allowing employees to re-familiarize themselves anytime on whatever specific activity/task they are about to undertake using the following Water Park 80/100 rule. The 80/100 rule requires all staff operate at 80% capacity, while implementing 100% safety.
