About Us

We are a residential outdoors education centre established in 1998 by the Eric Wright Trust on the shore of Coniston Water in the Lake District.

We are available to groups of young people, corporate clients, and also offer the full range of National Governing Body awards through our training division
– Lakes Outdoor Training, as well as a range of specialist skills courses.

In addition we have The Wright Lodge which is a day visit facility for schools, youth groups & corporate clients who would like to participate in our range of outdoor activities, but on a non residential basis. We also have the Kennels building which is available for groups to hire to run their own woodland/ environmental study sessions.

The Estate has a history as a ‘Park’ belonging to Furness Abbey. Its origins are believed to go back to the 12th Century, although the current building is largely Georgian and Victorian in style. The thirteen bedrooms are equipped with single beds and provide accommodation for two, three, four and in one case five people.Showers and toilets are in close proximity The current estate comprises 65 acres, mainly woodland, and includes the former mansion house, ancillary building, a mile of lakeshore, a marina and a boathouse.

For any information please look around our site or give us a call or e-mail. Any available course dates can be viewed on the mini calendar.

Waterpark is ideally situated at the southern end of Coniston Water and has easy access to the M6 via the Kendal turning.

Unfortunately we cannot cater for individuals, unless on one of our specialist courses.
