ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES/ENVIRONMENTAL ART.
With the development of the old kennels building into our art/environmental classroom we are now able to offer a variety of art/environmental inputs into our activity sessions.
The outdoor environment lends itself to discovery & expression through the medium of art. Where appropriate we include elements of art work into our activity sessions, using natural materials collected by group members.
We aim to develop the individuals understanding & appreciation of the natural environment by raising their awareness of the flora & fauna of the area, whether this is by stream dipping for mini-beasts or using plant keys.
In addition we are able to offer groups the opportunity to become involved with the John Muir Award. The award has been specially designed with young people in mind and aims to recognise their involvement with environmental conservation & awareness. The old kennels is equipped with a whole host of art/environmental materials to facilitate this work.

In addition to art/environmental sessions we are also able to offer curriculum related field study/geography sessions as detailed below LAND USE STUDIES Visit a local hill sheep farm. Forestry at Grizedale. National Park studies in conjunction with Brockhole. Settlement studies, Hawkshead, Satterthwaite and other Lakeland Villages. LANDFORM STUDIES Rivers Glaciers Geomorphology
